As you may know Megan and Tyler spend time in classes at the YMCA. Megan only has time for swim and volleyball. Megan is a terrific swimmer, and is like a fish in water. Her previous instructors compliment her on her elementary backstroke. She is learning several strokes and is improving every lesson. She has moved up to the Minnow class now and gets to swim laps.
We signed him up to go two days a week instead of one, so now we can hear twice the complaining. Hopefully, he will start to enjoy swim lessons a little more. The insturctor is going to focus on getting him to float on his back this session. Hopefully then he will have the confindence to be in the deep end.
Megan's other Y class is volleyball. It is an instructional class where she is learning the techniques of the game. She is doing a great job learning and loves to go to the class. Megan's only complaint is the volleyball hurts her arms when she hits it.
Tyler has a lot of time for the Y and loves to go, except for swimming class. He is in swimming, soccer "practice", soccer games, and gymnastics.

Tyler's other favorite Y class is soccer. He plays in a Saturday morning indoor soccer league and goes to soccer "practice" on Tuesday night while Megan is in volleyball. Soccer "practice" as Tyler calls it, is a fun class for 3 and 4 year olds that teaches basic soccer skills.
Finally, there is swimming class. Tyler's least favorite class. He gets very worked up about going and tries to make deals to get out of going. He doesn't like that he is in the deep end of the pool now and cannot touch the bottom. He can swim across the pool, and dive down to the bottom of the pool, but cannot get over that he cannot stand on the bottom. He wants to be moved to the class that is in the shallow end of the pool (the 2 and 3 year olds).
