October brings the never-ending question, “when are we going to put up the Great Pumpkin?'” Actually, the question begins in early September when the kids realize Halloween is right around the corner.
The “Great Pumpkin” is our 3 foot tall lighted plastic pumpkin we put in the window on a landing above our front door in our foyer. This has now turned into an annual affair at our house. Dad gets the ladder out and Megan and Tyler get to climb up and set up the pumpkin.

2009: Dad got to help the kids this year. (Mom was home)
2008: The tradition begins. Tyler climbed solo this year. Later heard from Megan how unfair this was. Decided next year to begin a new tradition.
