This year we made a return trip to the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge/Great Smokey Mountain National Park for fall break weekend. We rented a cabin with a swimming pool in the basement with two other families.
Here are group is all ready for a hike to Clingman’s Dome (a lookout tower at the top of a mountain.) The problem was that the temperature at the bottom of the mountain was 65 degrees, it was 43 degrees when we drove to the the top. We took a couple pictures at the top, hopped back in the cars, put the heater on and drove back down the mountain without doing the hike. We decided to spend the rest of the afternoon swimming in the pool instead.
The next day the boys went mini-golfing and the girls went horseback riding. The boys all set to go in the tram that takes them to the first hole.
After golf and horseback riding we went back to the park for a hike. The whole group hiked to Laurel Falls, a waterfall that is about a two mile hike.
